Tutorial: Watermarbling 101

Good morning, class is officially in session! Get out your pens and paper or bookmark this post as I am here today to help you with WATERMARBLING!

It’s no secret that I love watermarbling but that wasn’t always my story or even something I thought I would be saying. But trust me, I get it, when it comes to watermarbling, it’s not the easiest nail art technique to achieve, it’s down right frustrating and if I can be honest, pisses you off… I was where you are. But since we’re being honest, it has come to be fun, exciting and a technique I love to do.

Tutorial: Spring Watermarble

Hey y’all!! I am LOVING the current changes to my blog posting schedule!!! I am able to get back to blogging about more nail art, designs and techniques. I know I have shown watermarbles before but today I was inspired by the sights and sounds of spring, although it feels some like summer.

Today I am finally getting around to using the Boombastic Collection from pipe dream polish (PDP) that I purchased during the release in Feb. After missing out on the initial releases of A Night in Vegas Collection (ANIV/ANIVC) and finally purchasing them second hand in an auction, I realized that I needed everything April creates. I have had to adult and passed up on quite a few but the recent collections, were a MUST!!!

The Boombastic collection features 4 holos:

Pink – Body A Shake * Green – Sugarcane * Blue – Feel the Rush * Purple – It Wasn’t Me

I put together the following ‘video’ of pictures taken from my watermarble

What I used:

  • Commitment Issues by Vapid
  • Jior White Crème by Jior Couture
  • Scotch Tape
  • Room temperature tap water
  • Old cup/dish for marbling
  • Watermarble Tool from What’s Up Nails
  • Q-tip
  • Elf Concealor Brush for cleanup
  • Acetone
  • Tonic Topper by Tonic

My final mani turned out amazingly…if I do say so myself. The colors are bold and vibrant and perfect for the spring.

If you own any PDP then you know that April is known for making some of the best watermarble polishes. If you’re just getting into watermarbling or you’re having a hard time, I would highly suggest using PDP.

That will do it for today. Let me know in the comments if you prefer tutorials in written, outlined form or this picture to video form.
