***PRESS (PR) SAMPLE NOTICE ***

Hey Sugas!!! Cancer is never an easy topic if discussion, in fact it can often be taboo; it plagues our world at alarming rates, effect families and can ruin lives. But… it doesn’t have to end there. With the use of one of her many talents as a thriving indie maker, Chrissy has combined forces with numerous indie brands to create the 2nd annual BCA Box.

This year 10% of everything except polish will be donated (Cuticula is 10%) along with a bracelet benefit, with $2 from each bracelet donated to Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

What is Alzheimer’s Disease?

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia. It is a neurological brain disorder named after a German physician, Alois Alzheimer, who first described it in 1906. It is an irreversible, progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills, and behavior, eventually the ability to carry out the simplest tasks.

Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and those with Alzheimer’s live an average of eight years after their symptoms become noticeable to others. Survival can range from 4 to 20 years, depending on age and other health conditions. The greatest known risk factor is increasing age, and the majority of people with Alzheimer’s are 65 and older. But Alzheimer’s is not a “normal part” of aging, it is not just a disease of old age. Approximately 200,000 Americans under the age of 65 have younger-onset Alzheimer’s disease (also known as early-onset Alzheimer’s).

Alzheimer’s has no current cure, but treatments for symptoms are available and research continues. That’s where you and I come in.

Keep reading for more info on how you can help.

International or Intercountry adoption is the process by which an individual or couple become the legal and permanent parent(s) of a child who is a national of a different country and then bring that child to their country of residence to live. International adoptive parents are subject to laws and must meet the legal adoption requirements of their country of residence AND those of the country whose nationality the child holds.

Thousands of U.S. citizens adopt children from abroad, providing them with loving homes, supportive families, and a world of happiness. One thing is clear, though the process may be complex, holding your new child in your arms is the ultimate reward.

***

Love Without Boundaries (LWB) is not an adoption agency. It is an authentic international charity that provides hope and healing and is passionate about helping every orphaned child in finding a permanent family whenever possible, whether through domestic or international adoption. LWB began in 2003 to help save the life of one tiny boy in China and now operates ongoing programs in Cambodia, China, India, and Uganda to orphaned and vulnerable children, and their underserved communities, through its education, nutrition, medical, and foster care programs.

It is LWB’s vision to provide the most loving and compassionate help possible to orphaned and impoverished children, and to show the world that every child, regardless of his or her needs, deserves to experience love and be treated with dignity and care.

You may be asking yourself, “Krystal, where are you going with this?”

No, I’m not naming animals at the zoo nor am I going to discuss how cute they are….even though they are. What I am going to do is spotlight the danger they are in.

These are just a few of the “critically endangered, endangered and vulnerable” animals the world has according to A-Z Animals. And it’s time, time to take a stand and put an end to the devastation that we are causing to our animal friends. Let’s not add any more animals to the list of extinct animals including:

  • Dodo

Endangered – (of a species) seriously at risk of extinction.

Extinct – (of a species, family, or other larger group) having no living members; no longer in existence.

Can you image? A world with no more animals? Keep reading to find out how you can join the efforts to help put an end to endangered animals.

February 2018 Monthly Awareness Polish Box: Childhood Cancer Awareness

Cancer of any type or age is terrible but when it affects our children it’s something completely unimaginable. Although pediatric cancer death rates have declined by nearly 70 percent over the past four decades, cancer remains the leading cause of death from disease among children. The most common types of cancer diagnosed in children ages 0 to 14 years are leukemias, brain and other central nervous system (CNS) tumors, and lymphomas. But the amazing people at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital work tirelessly day after day to ensure the tiny little human that walk through their doors are taken care of.

While September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, M.A.P.B decided to #gogold (Gold Ribbon brings awareness to Childhood Cancer) and raise awareness in February.

Let’s check out what the makers have in store for us this month! Enjoy…

November Monthly Awareness Polish Box: Diabetes Awareness

***Discount Samples***

Hey y’all, welcome back. Today I have the newest Monthly Awareness Polish Box focusing on diabetes. National Diabetes Awareness Month is November and World Diabetes Day on Nov. 14. This disease plagues a lot of families and hits close to home. Today we will get to the bottom of diabetes finding what it is, stats and figures and what you can do to lower your risk.

What is diabetes?

Diabetes is a disease that occurs when your blood glucose, also called blood sugar, is too high. Blood glucose is your main source of energy and comes from the food you eat. Insulin, a hormone made by the pancreas, helps glucose from food get into your cells to be used for energy. Sometimes your body doesn’t make enough—or any—insulin or doesn’t use insulin well. Glucose then stays in your blood and doesn’t reach your cells.

Over time, having too much glucose in your blood can cause health problems. Although diabetes has no cure, you can take steps to manage your diabetes and stay healthy

What are the different types of diabetes?

The most common types of diabetes are type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes

If you have type 1 diabetes, your body does not make insulin. Your immune system attacks and destroys the cells in your pancreas that make insulin. Type 1 diabetes is usually diagnosed in children and young adults, although it can appear at any age. People with type 1 diabetes need to take insulin every day to stay alive.

Type 2 diabetes

If you have type 2 diabetes, your body does not make or use insulin well. You can develop type 2 diabetes at any age, even during childhood. However, this type of diabetes occurs most often in middle-aged and older people. Type 2 is the most common type of diabetes.

Gestational diabetes

Gestational diabetes develops in some women when they are pregnant. Most of the time, this type of diabetes goes away after the baby is born. However, if you’ve had gestational diabetes, you have a greater chance of developing type 2 diabetes later in life. Sometimes diabetes diagnosed during pregnancy is actually type 2 diabetes.

How common is diabetes?

As of 2015, 30.3 million people in the United States, or 9.4 percent of the population, had diabetes. More than 1 in 4 of them didn’t know they had the disease. Diabetes affects 1 in 4 people over the age of 65. About 90-95 percent of cases in adults are type 2 diabetes.

New Cases: 1.5 million Americans are diagnosed with diabetes every year.

Lower Your Risk

  • Physical Activity
