Hey Sugas!!! Today must be my luck day because I have so many reasons to celebrate! First, off… it’s FRIDAY!!!! #2, I am one step closer to putting my car accident behind me! Last night I purchased a new-to-me car. A 2016 Chevy Traverse, a sequel to my previous 2014 model. YAY ME!!! And last, but certainly not least, can you believe tomorrow is my 3 year blog-iversary??? Hey Sugas!!! Cryptids is the name and 4 pastel multichromes is the game! For June, Bee’s Knees Lacquer (BKL) has created 4 new pastel multichromes inspired by Cryptids which will release June 1st!

Based on what I could find, Cryptids are the most sought after, yet-to-be discovered animals whose existence is unsubstantiated except in rumors and folklore type tales. Some of the most common or famous ones include, Loch Ness Monster, Bigfoot, and the Himalayan Yeti. However, BKL has 4 that are far from a myth.

Moore Swatches: Femme Fatale Cosmetics – Jumanji Collection, June COTM and June FOTM

Hey Sugas!! Today I have the Jumanji Collection, June COTM and June FOTM from Femme Fatale Cosmetics. 

The Jumanji Collection was inspired by the 1995 movie of the same name. While exploring an old mansion, youngsters find a curious, jungle-themed game called Jumanji in the attic. When they start playing, they free Alan Parrish, who’s been stuck in the game’s inner world for decades. If they win Jumanji, the kids can free Alan for good — but that means braving giant bugs, ill-mannered monkeys and even stampeding rhinos! This was another childhood favorite for Sophie, brand owner and creator, and she  really enjoyed creating this collection to mirror the palette from this movie. The shades envoke dry desert plains, tumbleweeds, creeping vines; the dense, wet jungle and a dusty attic.

The COTM was inspired by the winter feastival, Dark Mofo, an awesome dark arts festival in Tasmania each year!

And finally, the FOTM was inspired by a dark opal image.

Hey Sugas!!! In the baking world, a bakers dozen is commonly understood to mean 13. In the indie maker world, Makers Dozen is the hottest new thing in collaborations featuring 12 core brands and a guest maker every month. That’s right, Makers Dozen is launching June 1st and in addition to a few offerings, I am delighted to share with you an exclusive, inside look into the 12 makers known as Makers Dozen!

 How will the box be run?

The Makers Dozen is a collaboration between 12 makers with a different guest maker joining monthly. Polishes will be sold on maker’s individual web sites.

How is Makers Dozen different from other boxes that are currently available?

Makers Dozen is so much different, and it’s really exciting. From day 1 to now the idea has changed so much and it’s a great thing. We will be releasing polishes with a cap of 40 so they will stay exclusive and it’ll be exciting to get your hands on! Because of this cap polishes may sell out super quick, but we aren’t having a cut off date. If they are still available in the next monthly they will still be able to be purchased. Also each bottle will be numbered just like works of art should be! We will have 13 drawings in our group to allow members to win free shipping, discounts, etc. The makers are so excited to be engaging with the members I really think it will be something special. Another thing that sets us apart is that each month will be a rainbow of colors! We all rotate colors each month so every month there will be 13 different colored polishes!

Why ‘Maker’s Dozen’?

Makers Dozen was a name that the group came up with together, a play on bakers dozen, and it fits so perfectly!

The Queens Critique: Anchor & Heart Lacquer – Nail Care Essentials

Hey Sugas!!! We all know that every great outfits starts with the essentials, right? You remember mom saying “make sure you have one clean underwear when you go out!”, it’s because it’s important. When you hop out of the shower and get dressed, what’s the first piece of clothing you put on? I’m 99% sure its some sort of under garment. Now…. if you don’t put anything on, that’s a conversation for another day, so let’s assume you do. Underclothing is the base.

For me, I NEED a fast drying top coat because as a busy woman, I’m always on the go and don’t have time to sit for 30 mins while my polish dries. Who does???

The Queens Critique: Wildflower Lacquer – Wax Melts

Hey Sugas!!! Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a passion for candles and wax melts. I believe this is because I have a strong sense of smell. Jason and the kids tease me about being able to smell things that are miles away…lol! I can’t help it, I was born this way.

Nevertheless, candles and wax melts are my thing. I use to spend hours in the candle/wax isle smelling all the candles and those high-end shops…. forget about it. Jason and the kids would just leave me in the mall, run their errands and come back for me. To me smell invokes memories and memories, good or bad, are life lessons. For instance, the scent of warm apple pie reminds of me being in my grandfather’s late wife’s diner. She made the best homemade pies. Vanilla will always be a classic and reminds me of the warm vanilla sugar scent I used to wear all throughout high school. 

I love that I can support indie brands and purchase wax melts, a cleaner and safer alternative to the traditional candle. Wax melts are totally on trend right now and are budget-friendly. Today I have 3 scents from Wildflower Lacquer, Celebrate Good Times, Creaming For You and Spa Day, all of which are currently available online.
