Swatch & Review: Pahlish – August Release and Afternoon Tea Collection

Hey y’all and happy Friday! Today I have my first 10 polishes from a ‘new to me brand’, Pahlish. Since this brand is new to the Queendom, before we get in to the swatches, lets first find out more about the maker and the polish.

“Established in 2012, Pahlish is owned and operated by the husband and wife team Shannon Pahlas Pummill and Josh Pummill out of Nashville, Tennessee.”

“Our goal is to deliver the finest in hand mixed nail polish handmade in the USA with the best customer service.”

“Our polish is cruelty free and 5-free (does not contain: toluene, dibutyl phthalate, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor).”

So as I said before, I have the 10 newest polishes releasing this Sunday, Aug. 13th. These polishes are divided into a 4 piece collection and then 6 general new releases that don’t have an official collection name. Without further adieu, let’s take a look at these polishes.

**All swatches are done using Commitment Issue Peel-off Base Coat by Vapid and Tonic Topper by Tonic (shiny) and Matte Me topcoat by Jior Couture (matte). Swatch photos are taken using artificial lights.**

August 2017

Thistle – a thistle blue-grey cream with multichrome red shimmer

Borealis – a deep bruised plum with duochrome teal shimmer

Gilded Olive – a burnished olive gold foil

Chocolate Diamond – a bronze foil

Daughters of Triton – an aqua holographic with glowing purple shimmer and ultrachrome flakes

Ursula – a soft garnet holographic with glowing purple shimmer and ultrachrome flakes

Afternoon Tea

Jasmine – a soft mint green cream with teal shimmer and teal ultrachrome flakes

Earl Grey – a soft greige cream with red shimmer and copper ultrachrome flakes

Chamomile – a soft porcelain blue cream with delicate red shimmer and red ultrachrome flakes

Moroccan Rosebud – soft blush cream with pink shimmer and dark purple ultrachrome flakes

Overall Thoughts – Pahlish – August Release

Formula / Application: A quick note, the two foils are showing a bit of foil pigment sinkage. Shannon is aware and has already adjusted the formula for a heavier glitter base so that will be resolved before they launch on the site with no changes to viscosity or application/opacity! All the polishes are self leveling, non streaking, have a none to barely textured finish and fast drying. I didn’t experience any staining with Borealis as I wore it over night over a sticky base coat.

Opacity: 1-3 coats. Chocolate Diamonds was easily a 1 coater but the Afternoon Tea Collection is shown in 3.

Price: $10

Availability: Sunday August 13th at 7 pm central time

Overall: I’m wondering why I have never tried this brand? The formula is great, thin but not too thin and the coverage is wonderful. It was hard to narrow down a favorite but I have to say Thistle and Chocolate Diamond are tied. So what you looking forward to in this release?
