Swatch & Review: Ever After – Flake It Up

It’s finally Friday and the freakin’ weekend is upon us!! I don’t know about you, but I live for the weekend. Not too much planned this weekend as basketball is over ūüė≠, so a lazy Saturday it is. We’ll probably take in a swim at the pool and have family movie night and I think my oldest is going to a party but other than that, no too much going on and that’s just the way I like it.

Today I have for you the newest upcoming collection from Ever After, Flake It Up. This 5 piece collection consists of what else…FLAKES!!! But not just any flakes, multi-shifting flakes! They will be available starting Wednesday, Aug. 9th and they are simply stunning. They are named after some bar favorites and just like the rum, vodka and tequila¬†those drinks include, these¬†polishes are sure to satisfy you polish taste buds too. Whether you¬†prefer straight up or on the rocks, these polishes are sure to knock your socks off.

**All swatches are done using Commitment Issue Peel-off Base Coat by Vapid and Tonic Topper by Tonic (shiny) and Matte Me topcoat by Jior Couture (matte). Swatch photos are taken using artificial lights.**

Overall Thoughts – Ever After – Flake It Up

Formula / Application: standard jelly formula and polishes dry texture due to the flecks, however a generous coat of glossy tc helps smooth everything out. No problems with application, no flooding of cuticles and even coverage of flakes with every stroke. I would suggest working in thin coats especially if you’re¬†not applying colored based. To achieve complete opacity, polishes may get a little thick and require a longer dry time. If VNL is not an issue for you, then 2-3 coats should be perfect.

Opacity: swatches shown in 3 coats and no white/color undies

Price: $10.50 each

Availability: August 9th

Overall: I think these polishes would make for the perfect jelly sandwich mani. The formula is squishy so be sure to allow enough dry time. The multi-shifting flakes are gorgeous and pickup nicely in all types of lighting. My favorite of the collection was Purple Haze simply because purple polishes are amazing!
