September 5th my house will return back to the peaceful, serene and tranquil place that I can enjoy for 6 hours BY MYSELF!!! The only thing that would make it a better day is if I didn’t have to work, but as we all know #adultingsucks and we gotta do, what we gotta do.

Swatch & Review: Glisten & Glow – 1950’s Nostalgia Collection

***PRESS (PR) SAMPLE NOTICE ***

Did you know that in the early 1950s the price of a new car was around $1500, a one carat diamond ring sold for $399 and cheese was $.45/lb? Neither did I! During the 1950s one would hear Elvis Presley on the radio and watch I Love Lucy on the tv. In 1959, Alaska and Hawaii were made the 49th and 50th US States.

A lot happened in the 50s that helped shape the world we live in today and today’s collection from Glisten & Glow is an ode to that time. Jill focused on one area in particular as inspiration for the upcoming 5-piece crème collection…. Appliances! From Doo-Wop to Route 66,  these polishes are synonymous with the decade.

If you missed my live IG swatch, watermarble and stamp action with this collection, check it out here!

Now let’s take a look at the 1950’s Nostalgia Collection… ya dig!

Swatch & Review: Bad Bitch Polish (BBP) – September Birthstone Duo

***PRESS (PR) SAMPLE NOTICE ***

Hey y’all, today I’m back with another Birthstone Duo from Bad Bitch Polish. According to the American Gem Society, “September’s birthstone is the sapphire, a precious gem of wisdom, loyalty and nobility. This stone is said to focus the mind, encourage self-discipline and channel higher powers.”

Did you know, blue sapphire belongs to the mineral species corundum family and can be a pure blue but range from greenish blue to violetish blue? Yep! It’s true! The name “sapphire” can also apply to any corundum that’s not red and doesn’t qualify as ruby. Besides blue sapphire and ruby, the corundum family also includes so-called “fancy sapphires.” They come in violet, green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, and intermediate hues. Sapphires can even be gray, black, or brown.

Interesting, huh? Well, now that you know more about this beautiful gem, let’s take a look at the polishes Britt created.

Swatch & Review: Road to Polish Con Chicago 2017 – Week 9

***PRESS (PR) SAMPLE NOTICE ***

We are at the tail end of the Road to Polish (RTPC) Chicago 2017 series with the final 3 week countdown!!! Who’s pumped and ready for the culmination which is Polish Con (PC)??? If you haven’t kept up with this Thursday series on my blog, then allow me to fill you in. If you think of it in terms of football, RTPC is the regular football season and PC is the superbowl. All season long you enjoy game after game for weeks, in this case it’s polish. For the past 8 weeks, makers have been creating exclusive polishes that even if you are unable to attend PC you can get during their allotted timeframe. Then it all comes to the big day…. the championship aka POLISH CON!! But instead of seeing 2 great teams play each other in the for a trophy and bragging rights for a year, everyone is a winner…. the makers, the attendees, EVERYONE WINS!! Instead of a halftime show there will be tutorial tables where some of the most amazingly talented people will be showing off their skills like stamping, hand-painting and watermarbling just to name a few. Side note, be on the look out for signups in the PC Facebook group (link below). There is also polish press!! Yep, there will be official bloggers that will be at the event and bring us blow by blow coverage. How exciting is that?!?!?!?

Before we delve into the upcoming week 9 polishes, featuring Girly bits, Fair Maiden and Bad Bitch Polish (BBP), I must give you my PSA… don’t forget to order your week 8 RTPC polishes featuring Don Deeva, Nvr Euff and Bluebird Lacquer!!! Ok, done, now let’s take a look.

I have 3 words for you….. ONE COATER CREME!!! These words are just as satisfying and heart-filling as Taco Tuesday or Pizza and Wings. I come on, you can’t get much better than a 1 coat crème.

Sorry, I’ve jumped the gun, so to speak, but my excitement over this polish… I just couldn’t hold it in anymore. Today I have 1 of the many polishes available from a ‘new to me’ brand, Love Potion No 9. I found out about this brand during my search for WOC Indie Nail Polish Makers. If you haven’t read that post, be sure to do so here, trust me, it’s worth the read.

Carter, maker, creator and brand owner sent me this polish for review and SPOILER ALERT…it’s stunning!!! “Love Potion No. 9 Lacquér promotes Self-Love via D.I.Y Manicures. We encourage women to set aside 9 Minutes to Lacquér w| Love and enjoy the burst of colour. Lacquered Nails are the best display of self-love next to your Smile.”

“Our Nail Lacquér is of superior quality made in the USA from FDA-approved ingredients. It is “5 free,” meaning that the polish does not contain Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene, DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate) and Camphor. Additionally we are 100% vegan and not tested on animals.”
