Swatch & Review: Turtle Tootsie – August Birthstone Trio

Good Morning! Or afternoon or night for that matter. Depending on when your reading this post, I hope it finds you well. Before we dive into what Chrissy has in store for us, I wanted to catch you all up on the happenings here at the Queendom. The young prince and princesses are well. My son just finished up another year of AAU basketball and is ready to embark on his new adventure…high school marching band!!! GO TITANS!! He has played the clarinet since 4th grade and will now be trying his hand at the baritone. Band camp starts today and lasts for 2 weeks!!! 10 days of marching and playing from 8am to 6pm, we are so proud of him.

As for the girls, my 10 year old is enjoying the summer with not much to do. We didn’t sign her up for anything over the summer because well…. I forgot. I know, *hangs head low, shame on me but I promise to make it up her. She has decided to continue with singing in chorus and participating in Girls on the Run (GOTR) at the school. As for my youngest, she made the training team at gymnastics and is now practicing twice a week for 2.5 hours each day. She is handling it like a champ for a 5 year old.

So you may be wondering how all the ties into today’s post. It doesn’t, I just wanted to share. I know this isn’t a Mommy blog but if I seem a little short in my recent and future posts it’s because #lifeisgettingintheway! No but seriously, I guess I could segway by mentioning that we are well into Leo season and living with 2 of them is no easy feat. My youngest will be 6 on 8/17 and she as already advised me that she wants the ‘green glitter one from the Turtle polishes’ for her mani and pedi for her pool swimming party.

Swatch & Review: Road to Polish Con Chicago 2017 – Week 5

Chicago is known for many things, the Cubs, the Bulls, the Bears, deep dish pizza 🍕 and it’s home to the Sears Tower. But we can’t talk about the best of Chicago unless we talk about the famous Navy Pier, a 3,300 ft-long pier on the Chicago shoreline of Lake Michigan.

The Navy Pier has parks, gardens, shops, restaurants, family attractions and exhibition facilities and is the top leisure destination in the Midwest. It is one of the most visited attractions in the entire Midwestern United States and is Chicago’s number one tourist attraction.

The reason I bring all that up is because the Navy Pier has been chosen as the venue to host the 3rd Polish Con (PC) scheduled for September 23rd. While we have about 8 more weeks before the big day, hopefully you’re having a good time while we cruise along on a Road to Polish Con (RTPC).

This week, RTPC features 3 brands that are no strangers to the event, Cupcake Polish, Different Dimensions and Glisten & Glow. Sara, Missi and Jill created 3 holos inspired by the fireworks, dancing, music, culture, food, cocktails and even the beautiful sunsets experienced from 3 sightseeing boats. Let’s take a look at what week 5 has in store for us.

Swatch & Review: August Polish Pickup – Alter Ego

It’s humpday Wednesday and today I have a polish from the August Polish Pickup group. This polish comes from Cynthia at Alter Ego and her inspiration for the old Hollywood theme was Cleopatra.

Cleopatra was released June 12th, 1963 and was the highest-grossing film of year, earning $57.7 million in the United States at the box office. This classic movie depicts one of the most famous and gloriously powerful love triangles ever to be captured on film between Cleopatra, Julius Caesar and Marc Antony in her ill-fated attempt to save the Egyptian empire.

In addition to your purchase of this polish, Cynthia will also be sending out sample scent cards for the cuticle oil pens and hand sanitizer scents she will be offering. So be on the look out in your bubble wrap for it! This is what it will look like and let me just say, I could smell it as soon as I opened the package. The coffee scent is AMAZING!! Swatch & Review: Paint It Pretty Polish – Flakies, Flakies, Flakies

Hey y’all, welcome! *singing* “Flakes, flakes everywhere. Flakes, flakes I don’t care. Flakes, flakes in my polish. Flake, flakes…… yeah I don’t know, I’ll stick to my day job. But when I say ‘flakes’, what comes to mind?

I for one think… cereal, yep, Frosted Flakes, Corn Flakes, I love them all! And because I constantly have food on the brain, let’s say crushed red pepper flakes too. Yum, pizza… with pineapple and bacon. Wait, I’m getting carried away.

Swatch & Review: Road to Polish Con Chicago 2017 – Week 4

Hey y’all, welcome back! In yesterday’s post I gave you a brief clue into what’s in store for me this weekend. If you missed the clue is was, HELMER! No, that’s not code for anything, it means that after a long wait, I am finally getting my first helmer!!! I couldn’t be more excited! I convinced hubby that my polish stash has grown leaps and bounds in just a year, even after all the donating of polish, destashing and giveaways and it was time to find an additional source of storage. With the pending move in our future, my argument was that if I got a helmer now, and stored my polish in it, then I wouldn’t have to have to individually pack them later and they would be ready for the move. I also said that I would destash as I was going through my beauties, so be on the lookout for a blog destash coming to a post near you.

So you see, my excitement is valid and I am over the moon with how organized all of my babies will be. But that’s enough of that, let’s take a look at the week 4 Road to Polish Con (RTPC) featuring Contrary Polish, Bohemian Polish and Anonymous Lacquer
