Swatch & Review: Turtle Tootsie Polishes – April Birthstone Trio

Good Morning!!! Last Friday, if you recall, I told you was going to see Beauty and the Beast? Well I did and it was AMAZING!!!! All weekend we were singing songs from the movie and saying, ” you remember when Belle…” or you remember the part when…” I highly recommend the movie if you are a fan of the story, I thought it was very well done. From the actors, to the special effects and costumes, it was funny and apparently “a little scary” according to my 5 year old. But she was a trooper and watched the whole thing. My only other recommendation would to pick a less popular time to see it. We went on a Friday (1 week after opening) at 6 pm. We did get there a little late because I picked up the other girls, and the theater was PACKED! I’m talking we were sitting in the 2nd row from the front, packed. But again, the smile and hugs I received made it all worth it.

Saturday, we were able to get a little yard work done, not how I intended to spend my 70+ degree day, but when your mom says your front yard looks a mess, you hop to it and get it cleaned up. We racked up the old leaves, weeds and mulch and put down some new red mulch. I must say, it makes coming home easier on the eye… even if the inside doesn’t match. It was rewarding work that the entire family got to help with. We put down our phones and ipads, pulled away from the TV and did something as a family. I guess moms really do know best! Sunday we went to church and relaxed for the rest of the evening. All in all it was a very relaxing and productive weekend.

But alas here we are humpday Wednesday and I have an amazing trio to show you. Yep, I have Turtle Tootsie Polishes’ April Birthstone Trio.

**All swatches are done using Commitment Issue Peel-off Base Coat by Vapid and Tonic Topper by Tonic (shiny) and Matte topcoat by Turtle Tootsie Polishes (matte). Swatch photos are taken using artificial lights.**

A white shimmery holo polish

A white crelly with matte gray glitter and silver holo glitters

A glitter topper filled with silver holo and iridescent glitters

Overall Thoughts

Formula / Application: 3 effortless finishes, holo, crelly and glitter made with 3 perfect formulas. Application was easy. A good glossy topcoat will smooth out all the glitters!

Opacity: 2 easy coats to achieve NVL. The glitter topper is 1 coat shown over black base.

Price: Full size trio is available for $25, mini size $15.  Singles are also available for $10/full $6/minis.

Availability: Saturday, April 1st

Overall: I am definitely loving these birthstone trios. Honestly, I love all 3 so much and currently I am on an #allthingsglittercrelly kick but the white holo that Chrissy did for this trio is brilliant. It’s the perfect amount of holo that it keeps that beautiful white and does not ‘gray’ it out. The glitter topper is sure to take any base color to the next level!

Trust your gut and get the trio. You’ll thank me later!!!
