Swatch & Review: The Howling Boutique’s Supermoon Lacquer – The Chosen Collection

Hey y’all I’m back with another great swatch and review from a new to me brand that I am absolutely in love with. I hope you are comfortably chillin’ somewhere so you can fully appreciate the awesomeness I’m about to show you. We’ll take it slow so you don’t become overwhelmed with the goodness forth coming.

The Chosen Collection is the third collection and fourth release from The Howling Boutique’s Supermoon Lacquer. It includes seven colors – four shimmers and three holographic microglitters – with duochrome/multichrome finishes that shift in color when viewed at different angles.

One of the main reasons I love this collection is because all of the polishes in this collection were voted on by members of The Howling Boutique’s Wolf Pack group on Facebook….just one reason you’ll want to join this amazing group. Can you believe it?! A total of thirty-six colors were narrowed down to twelve via member voting and from there Mardi picked her fave seven to make up the final collection. Wolf Pack members then commented with color names and Mardi chose three per polish before the Pack then voted to choose the ‘winning’ suggestion. Hence the collection’s theme and name…The Chosen!

**All swatches are done using Commitment Issue Peel-off Base Coat by Vapid and Topped with Love by Love, Angeline (shiny) and Matte Me by Jior Couture (matte). Swatch photos are taken using artificial lights.**

THE APPLE OF EVE’S EYE

The Apple of Eve’s Eye is described as a red holographic duochrome with copper and red-to-orange color shifting shimmer plus gold and copper holographic microglitters. Opaque in 2-3 coats. Cost $11.00 (regular) / $10.00 (pre-sale)

THE LONE HEIR

The Lone Heir is described as a red-violet multichrome with violet and purple-to-red color shifting shimmer. Opaque in 2-3 coats. Cost $10.00 (regular) / $9.00 (pre-sale)

KNIGHT’S STRENGTH

Knight’s Strength is a blue based purple multichrome that shifts in color from bright purple to dark blue to bright green. Opaque in 2-3 coats. Cost $10.00 (regular) / $9.00 (pre-sale)

CROSSROAD BLUES

Crossroad Blues is a dark blue/teal holographic duochrome with turquoise-to-purple color shifting shimmer and iridescent blue-to-teal color shifting microglitter. Opaque in 2-3 coats. Cost $11.00 (regular) / $10.00 (pre-sale) 

LUCK OF THE DRAW

Luck of the Draw is described as a green holographic duochrome with turquoise and green-to-blue color shifting shimmer plus iridescent green-to-teal color shifting microglitter. Opaque in 2-3 coats. Cost $11.00 (regular) / $10.00 (pre-sale)

GREEN GODDESS

Green Goddess is an olive-green based multichrome that shifts in color from bronze to gold to green. Opaque in 2-3 coats. Cost $10.00 (regular) / $9.00 (pre-sale)

FIGHT YOUR DEMONS

Fight Your Demons is a reddish brown multichrome with copper, gold-to-green, and red/orange/gold color shifting shimmer. Opaque in 2-3 coats. Cost $10.00 (regular) / $9.00 (pre-sale)

Here’s the skinny!!! There will be a pre-order from Thursday, Nov. 3rd @ 6pm CST through Sunday, Nov. 6th @ 11:59pm CST. During this time, each color will be available individually as priced above and full sets of all seven polishes for $64.

After the presale the website will be closed while orders are packed, shipped and everything is re-stocked. It’ll then re-open for the ‘official’ launch on Wednesday, Nov. 9th @ 6pm CST where everything will then be available at their regular, full price as stated above for individual colors and full sets of all seven polishes for $70.

Overall, I’m in love with this brand! I thoroughly enjoyed this collection from concept to inception. I wish more makers would use this method to make the customers feel involved in the process. As a new to me brand, these polishes lived up to the expectations I had for them. Fantastic formula with a great variety of finishes, easy to apply, great colors that are wonderfully opaque in 2 easy coats.
